The Community Foundation has a strategic focus on supporting arts and culture on the South Coast. Since 2017, we have infused over $1 million into projects like public arts (like DATMA-supported art, “Shelter,” pictured at left), afterschool arts programs, and local theater programs. Your gift to the Community Foundation helps to continue growing the South Coast as a vibrant arts community.
The Community Foundation offers scholarships totaling over $700,000 each year – all for southeastern MA students (like our 2023 scholars, pictured at left)! With the rising costs of college, our young people often need some help to make achieving a college education attainable. Your support helps the Community Foundation to offer over 60 scholarships annually.
Economic opportunity is a key area of focus for the Community Foundation. We are offer grants through the SouthCoast Wind Fund, the Polaroid Fund and others that help to create new jobs, entrepreneurship opportunities, and new skills development for the betterment of our South Coast communities. New spaces, like the Ignition Space (pictured at left) for the arts, build our local economies.
The Community Foundation awarded nearly $5 million in grants, over $576,000 in scholarships, and managed approximately $50 million in assets last year. Read the most recent annual report to learn more about what the Foundation is doing in the region to advance the arts, education and economic opportunity through strategic grantmaking.
