Support the Community Foundation

The SouthCoast Community Foundation serves as the heart of philanthropy throughout our region. We offer innovative solutions that support individuals, nonprofits, and corporations in their pursuit of charitable giving. We also support local leaders, and provide grants and scholarships to dedicated members of our community who are committed to making a positive impact on our region.

There are several ways you can financially support the SouthCoast Community
Foundation to ensure a better future for our region.

Annual Fund of SouthCoast Community Foundation

Contributions to the Annual Fund help us address our community’s greatest needs by supporting the daily operations of the SouthCoast Community Foundation. Your gift ensures we are well-positioned to address economic disparities, elevate the arts as an essential community service, champion early childhood education, and help local students prepare for a productive future.

Creative Southcoast Initiative
The Creative Southcoast Initiative (formerly Creative Commonwealth Initiative) supports arts and culturally focused nonprofits in Fall River and New Bedford through direct grants and capacity-building programs. With a focus on organizations serving youth as well as culturally diverse and immigrant communities, the Community Foundation is building upon a long-term partnership with the Barr Foundation, working closely with nonprofits to expand access to and increase participation in arts and culture in the region.

Leadership Equity Fund

The Leadership Equity Fund of the SouthCoast Community Foundation was created to support non-profit organizations working to end racism run by leaders who identify as Black, Indigenous, or People of Color (BIPOC), and support the professional development of employees of nonprofit organizations who identify as BIPOC to provide the opportunity to lead and influence our community from positions of power and authority.

SouthCoast Community Foundation Endowment Fund
Contributions to the Endowment Fund are invested to provide long-term assets, the income of which becomes a reliable funding source in perpetuity, fueling the work of the Foundation. These funds can be deployed with greater flexibility in times of crisis, to meet emerging community needs, and seed innovative solutions.
SouthCoast Emergency Response Fund
The SouthCoast Emergency Response Fund fulfills the obligation of the Community Foundation as the philanthropic institution best suited to rapidly attract and deploy resources for emergency needs for our region. The Fund is currently serving communities and organizations disproportionately impacted by the COVID-10 pandemic.
