What is Giving Tuesday?
- Giving Tuesday was created in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good.
- After Black Friday, Small Business Saturday and Cyber Monday, we celebrate Giving Tuesday. It is the biggest day for charitable giving in the year, and it’s a global movement – there are 80 countries that have official Giving Tuesday national movements.
- The movement continues to grow – in 2021, an estimated $2.7 Billion were donated in twenty-four hours in the U.S. alone, a 9% increase over the prior year.
- We all can take part in Giving Tuesday by making a donation to any charity that is important to you, or by donating your time to an organization that needs volunteers.
